The IIIEE is proud to present the knowledge platform Climate-neutral cities 2030 – Open Academy!

The intention with this knowledge platform is to support the three EU Mission cities Malmö, Helsingborg and Lund in their quest to become climate-neutral by 2030. This by building transformative processes that can spur action and support transdisciplinary research. The knowledge platform connects the cities of  Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg, Lund University, Malmö University, SLU Alnarp as well as a range of companies and organisations spanning different sectors, such as energy and transport.

A kick-off was held in March 2023 which brought together representatives from cities, universities and companies to jointly discuss how to support each other in identifying ways forward. Conversations homed in on the challenges that the cities are facing in becoming climate-neutral, and how academia can support knowledge-based transformative processes.

The knowledge platform is established for a three-year period during which we will work together around key issues identified by the cities. The focus area for spring 2023 is transportation and mobility, and activities are already taking place among all involved actor groups to identify tomorrow’s pressing research questions and activities.

Lena Neij & Sofie Sandin Lompar are coordinating the knowledge platform. For further information, contact sofie [dot] sandin_lompar [at] iiiee [dot] lu [dot] se (sofie[dot]sandin_lompar[at]iiiee[dot]lu[dot]se)
